    James Lloyd Coe moved to Warwick after his Boer War service where he held the position of district agent for the machinery firm of Brown, Webb & Coe. In 1902 he entered into the business of auctioneers and commission agents and at the time of his death in 1929 he was partnered with C. H. Highfield and A. Caston in the firm trading as Coe and Highfield. 

    On 12 October 1908 he married Grace Mary Evans.
