15 Jun 1915: Promoted Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1), Sister, Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1)
5 Jul 1915: Embarked Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1), Sister, AANS, Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1), Embarked on HMAT 'A70' Ballarat from Port Suez on 5th July 1915, disembarking Melbourne on 6th August 1915.
30 Sep 1915: Embarked Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1), Sister, AANS, Australian Army Nursing Service (WW1), Embarked on HMAT 'A8' Argyllshire from Melbourne, disembarking Egypt.

  • 7th May 1917 - transferred to 1st South African General Hospital, Abbeville France;
  • 6th June 1917 - transferred to No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville;
  • 13th November 1917 - transferred No. 43 Casualty Clearing Station;
  • 9th August 1918 - transferred to No. 3 Australian General Hospital, Abbeville;
  • 6th September 1918 - Proceeded to England for duty;
  • 10th September 1918 - transferred to No. 2 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southall;
  • 24th September 1918 - transferred to No. 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield;
  • 26th October 1918 - admitted to Mrs T.S. Hall Hospital for Australian Nurses at Southwell Gardens suffering from influenza and was discharged on 4th November 1918;
  • 7th November 1918 - transferred to St Albans Convalescent Home
  • 1 Jan 1919: Honoured Royal Red Cross (2nd Class), "43 Casualty Clearing Station - During the retreat of March 1918, by her untiring zeal and devotion to duty working throughout with little rest, at times under shell fire at the exacting duties of the operating theatre, she set an inspiring example to all and was instrumental in saving many lives.

    Constance was Matron of Ardee Private Hospital in Kite Street, Orange, during 1920. She subsequently relocated to the Northern Territory, where she was acting Matron of Darwin Hospital until October 1924, and then Matron of the Darwin public clinic.

    In the June 1934 King’s Birthday Honours Constance was awarded an M.B.E. in recognition of her nursing services in the Northern Territory of the Commonwealth of Australia.. Her name appears on the Holy Trinity Church Orange Honour Roll.
