Dr. H. C. M. Delohery
The death occurred in tragic circumstances on Thursday pf Dr. Henry Charles Morisset Delohery, at his residence, Lane Cove.
Dr. Delohery was engaged in his surgery for several hours on a case requiring his closest attention, and this must have caused a considerable physical strain, for as soon as his task was completed, the doctor collapsed, and shortly afterwards died.
Dr. Delohery was born at Maitland, and was the son of the late Mr. Cornelius Delohery, a former stipendiary magistrate in Sydney.
He received his education at the University of Sydney. He practised for a time at Wallsend and enlisted as a medical officer for service in the Boer War. Upon his return, he practised at Forbes and four or five years ago went to Hunters Hill.
In his youth he was brilliant at cricket, being a member of the first University eleven.
In later years bowls was his favourite recreation.
Dr. Delohery, who was 53 years of age, is survived by Mrs. Delohery and three children, the youngest being aged 12 months.
