Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

When John Dudley enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father William Dudley, Ipswich Rd, Woolloongabba.

John Dudley was born about 1877 (Brisbane City Council cemetery records show he was 60 when he passed in 1937), a son to William Dudley and Emily Dudley (nee Biggs). He married Nancy Ann Shanahan and they had at least 3 children, and he was a taxi cab proprietor.
