His older brother Thomas Easlea also served twice in the South African (Boer) War, Private S.N. 232, 3rd Queensland Mounted Infantry and Private S.N. 631, 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen.
When George Easlea enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted hos N.O.K. as his father Mr. Easlea, Lacey's Creek, Upper North Pine. When his brother, Thomas, attempted to enlist again in 1914 for WW1 he gave his N.O.K. as his father Mr. Hy. Easlea, Lacey's Creek, which was originally thought to be Henry Eastlea. However a search fo BDM records note his father was Harry Easlea.
George Easlea was born in 1881 at Tenterfield, NSW, a son to Harry Easlea and Martha Easlea (nee Johnson). He married Maud Emily Clarke on 14 Apr 1913 at Warwick and they had 3 children. His obituary in the Warwick Daily News, 12 Mar 1937, notes he was a long time employee of the Queensland Railways from 1918 serving at Wallangarra, Warwick and Cairns.
