Add my storyBiography contributed by Claude McKelvey
When Henry George Evans enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as Henry Parker, Cnr. Kent St. and Racecourse Rd., Hamilton. In the original Nominal Roll for the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen Contingent, held by National Archives, it is noted his N.O.K. was his uncle, Henry Parker.
In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 149, it is noted he directed part of his pay to Miss L. Parker, Cnr. Kent St. and Racecourse Rd., Hamilton. After his return from the Boer war he married Louisa Parker, youngest daughter of Henry Parker, on 11 Feb 1903 at Hamilton, Brisbane. In their marriage notice in The Telegraph, 12 Feb 1903, it states Henry was the third son of Mr John Evans of Sherbourne, Dorset, England.
Henry George Evans was born in about 1876 in England, a son to John Evans and Elizabeth Parker.
