When Henry Williamson Fenner enlisted in 1901 and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as Mrs. H. W. Fenner, Warren St, Valley. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 120, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his mother Mrs. I. Fenner, Warren St, Valley.

Henry Williamson Fenner (registered as Henry William Fenner) was born on 29 May 1876 in Queensland, a son to Henry Fenner and Isabella Nesbitt Fenner (nee Clarke). He married Mary Jane Goodfellow on 31 Dec 1909 in Queensland.
