OBITUARY
Mr. G. T. Goodwin
The death occurred in Brisbane on Sunday last of Mr. George Taylor Goodwin, aged 73, following a short illness. The late Mr. Goodwin, who was born in Stawell (Victoria) was educated at the Geelong Grammar School. A former bank manager in the Commercial Bank of Australia Limited, he was later manager of several commercial houses, including the Remington Roneo Coy. Ltd. in New Zealand. Mr. Gcodwin was the accountant and secretary of Tytherleigh's Limited during the war years, and was the Landsborough correspondent of the 'Chronicle.'
A prominent athlete in his younger days, and as an 'evens' runner, he ran in the Stawell Gift against the world's best of that time. He was an A grade billiards player and at the time of his death was a popular member of the Nundah Bowling Club.
Surviving him are his widow, three sons. Messrs. J. T. (Nambour). J. G. (Brisbane), and R. M. Goodwin (Brisbane), and three daughters. Mesdames H. R. Labron (Singapore). A. H. John stone (Sydney), and J H. Boyd (Brisbane).
