Archibald James Murray, born 5 January 1892, Hawthorn, Vic, Presbyterian. 24, Single, Warehouseman. Next of Kin, Mother, Mrs A Murray, 'Glencairn', 96 Victoria Street, Coburg, Victoria. Previous service 52nd Infantry (Victorian Scottish Regiment), Corporal 14 November 1911, Sergeant 9 July 1912, 2nd Lieutenant 1 September 1913. Enlisted 1 May 1916 as 2nd Lieutenant (Honorary Lieutenant). Promoted to Lieutenant on 8 August 1916 and Captain on 24 October 1917. Awarded the Military Cross, London Gazette, 1 Jan 1918, Page 51, Position 78. Comm Gazette 18 April 1918, Page 847, Position 92. Mentioned in Dispatches on 16 March 1919. Returned to Australia 23 July 1919. Appointment Terminated 5 December 1919. Possibly died 9 October 1858, Melbourne, Service Springvale 13 October.
