Great Uncle Louis

Enna Lewis Napol HALES was born 16 Dec 1878 in Paddington NSW to an Unwed mother Sarah HALES
Sarah died in Nov 1884
leaving 2 sons Louis & George.
In Jan 1901 he enlisted for the Beor War
at some point before this had changed his name, he changed his name to Louis Napoleon HALES and added two new parents ( I'm guessing that being illegitimate it was hard to get ahead in life)
he married in 1906 in Freemantle to a Enid Ingram and they had 2 sons Ernest & Clifton .
Sadley In August 1916 whilst trying to board a train at Claremont Railway Station
he slipped and fell under a steam train and was crushed to death this was witnessed by his wife Enid
in his Obit he was listed as the Asst Head Teacher at West Leederville State School.
I only know all this as one day I asked an uncle who was Louis Hales who was listed as a godfather in the church records as I said his brother (Louis Hales) was to young to be his Godfather. and he told me the story of his uncle Louis
Thanks Garry Waters
