OBITUARY
Boer War Veteran
One of the few remaining Boer War veterans in the Forbes district, Mr. Edward Charles Haynes, aged 78. passed away in the District Hospital on Monday afternoon after having only been admitted on the previous Friday.
For upwards of 50 years the late Mr. Haynes had been residing a few miles from Forbes on the Parkes Road. He leaves a widow and large grown-up family. Of the family of 13 the following ten survive: Messrs Jas. Matraville. Sydney), William. George. Cassimer. Raymond, John and Charles (Forbes), Mrs. T. Reeves (Forbes). Mrs. Jones (Canowindra) and Miss Adelaide Haynes (Forbes). The funeral on Tuesday after noon was to the Presbyterian portion of the local cemetery, after a service at St. Andrew's Church. The service at the church and the graveside was conducted bv the Rev. H .V. Barratt. B.A. Mr. A. G. Jones directed the mortuary" arrangements.
