Albert James Heap was born on 7 Jun 1876 in Queensland, a son to (Albert) James Heap and Lucy Heap (nee Henton). When he enlisted in 1901 for the Boer war he was living in Maryborough and gave his N.O.K. as his father Mr. A. J. Heap, Ultimo, Sydney.
