Emily Hoadley of Blayney trained at the Sydney Hospital and spent some years working at the Molong Hospital, before joining the New South Welsh contingent of nurses bound for South Africa in the Boer War.
In World War One, Emily once again served Australia, enlisting with the 3rd Australian General Hospital.
She is commemorated on the war Memorial at Molong New South Wales and on the honour board in the Molong RSL
