Biography contributed by Jenny Howarth

Ernest Howarth returned to Carcoar, NSW to a welcome celebration in June 1901. He would later return to Johannesburg and marry a NSW girl named Isabella Camsill in 1909 in Johannesburg. They would have one daughter Mary Ethel Howarth born in 1910 in Johannesburg. Ernest worked as a road foreman in Johannesburg, which may have caused the asthma and heart failure which is listed as his cause of death at the age of 49 years.
