10 Sep 1901:	Discharged Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Private, 255, 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Reportedly remained in South Africa and did not return to Australia after 4th QIB embarked 5 Jul 1901 (Murray p. 477) aboard Britannic returning to Australia arriving Brisbane 5 Aug 1901, disbanded 10 Aug 1901.

The following is extracted from the Bio for James William Ingram on the Australian Boer War Memorial database.

James William Ingram was born on 1 Jan 1873 and noted his N.O.K. as living in Landsborough, Victoria, at the time of his enlistment with the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen for the South African (Boer) War. Newspaper report has him remaining in South Africa for further service when his contingent returned to Australia in 1901.

It is noted that on completing his service he remained in South Africa where he married Annie Christina Jolliffe and they had 3 children. He died in 1937 and is buried in a cemetery in Krugersdorp, Natal, South Africa.
