Son of Emily (Amelia) Hook of 'Chichester', Park Road, Marickville, NSW. Brother of John Stanley Hook who returned to Australia on 12 January 1920 having served with the 19th Battalion.
Commenced return to Australia on 22 September 1919 aboard HT Port Sydney disembarking on 12 November 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney
