William John Kellaway was born on 11 May 1877 at Rockhampton, Qld, a son to John England Kellaway and Bridget Kellaway (nee Brenan). Records indicate he was serving in the Unattached List of the Qld Military from 1897. Following his war service he returned to live in Rockhampton.
