At Mooroopna Hospital on Saturday the death occurred of Mr, Frederick Knowles, 58 years, proprietor of the Railway Hotel, Murchison East, and formerly owner of an hotel at Kyabram, The funeral took place on Sunday, the interment being made in the, Roman Catholic portion of the Mooroopna cemetery, The Rev. Father Downey, of Shepparton,  performed the last rites at the graveside, and Messrs Kittle Bros, were the undertakers.

Mr Knowles saw extensive war service in South Africa and in the Great War, and on Saturday night the Kyabram branch of the R.S.A., of which Mr Knowles had been a member, paused in silence a vote "of condolence to the bereaved widow and family.
