23 Jun 1902: Discharged Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Private, 111, 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, AWM Boer War Unit Details, Murray p. 508 notes 6th QIB embarked at Durban 17 May 1902 aboard Devon returning to Australia arriving Brisbane 17 Jun 1902, disbanded 23 Jun 1902.

Edward Christian Lochner (AWM Boer War Nominal Roll) was recorded as Edward Christopher Lochner in the South African (Boer) War Paybooks for the Qld contingents held by the Qld State Archives. He was similarly recorded in The Queenslander newspaper, 13 Apr 1901, p 716 with his rank and file photo where he noted his N.O.K. as Russell Lochner, Bayswater, London, England.

Its assumed he was born in England. He married Jessie Lilian Neill on 16 Nov 1903 in Queensland and they had 2 children. His Qld BDM death registration notes he died on 19 May 1960 in Queensland and he was the son of Russell Murray Lochner and  Louise Lochner (nee Turner).
