Lieutenant C.J. Conway Mason of the Victorian contingent of the Australian Imperial Regiment in South Africa, was severley wounded on Thursday last in the attack upon Phillipstown by a portion of Det Wet's forces under Commandant Haasbrock. Lieutenant Mason is a son of the Speaker, the Hon. F.C. Mason, and is one of the younger officers with the Bushmen's Corps, having been a commissioned officer in the Cadet Corps, and recently attached to the Victorian Garrison Artillery.
