Incorrectly recorded as George Amos May by the Boer War Nominal Roll, Murray p. 515.
When George Amos Day enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as D. Day, Beaudesert. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 75, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his mother Mrs. S. Day, Beaudesert.
George Amos Day was born on 11 Sep 1877 in Queensland, a son to David Day and Sarah Day (nee Williamson). He married Sarah Hopkins on 12 Dec 1905 in Queensland and they had 4 children.
