Add my storyBiography contributed by Claude McKelvey
Alexander McKenzie McLean was originally from England and on enlistment with the 5th QIB in 1901 he noted his N.O.K. as his brother, J. McLean, in London. Newspaper reports and Boer War Service Paybook of 5th QIB, p. 159, notes he remained in South Africa awaiting passage to England when the 5th QIB returned to Australia. He returned to England aboard Manhattan and was discharged in June 1902.
