Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

Christopher Thorton Mealing was born as Christopher Thorton 17 March 1877 in Queensland, a son to Christopher Mealing (alias Mark Thorton) and Mary Mealing (nee Keeler). One of his grandaughters provided this information to the Oz Boer Database Project.

When he enlisted in 1901 with the 5th QIB he noted his N.O.K. as his mother Mrs. M. Mealing at Maryborough. He married Ethel Mary Warrell on 8 Apr 1903 in Queensland and they had 3 children.
