Mr. George W. Michael, who died suddenly on Saturday, while rounding up cattle on his farm at Lower Cressbrook was born at Bald Hills 57 years ago. In early life he engaged in the timber-getting industry, and later lived for some years in New Zealand. When
he returned to Queensland he took up sugar growing at Mackay. About 15 years ago Mr Michael purchased Melton farm at Lower Cressbrook, and had lived there since. He fought through practically the whole of the Boer War with the Queensland contingent. He was a member of the Toogoolawah show committee and of the Toogoolawah Rifle Club. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, and two sons.
