Son of Louis de Cressac Villagrand and Annie Florence de Cressac Villagrand of Sydney, NSW. Brother of Francis de Cressac Villagrand who returned to Australia on 15 December 1919 having served with the 17th Battalion

Marital status at the time of enlistment was given as widower with the next of kin being given as his five year old son Alec Villagrand of Darling Street, Balmain, NSW.

Commenced return to Australia on 31 May 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarking on 12 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward fravel to Sydney.
