Frank Buckton Moss served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Private (S.N. 8) in the 2nd Queensland Mounted Infantry and secondly as a Corporal promoted to Sergeant (S.N. 807) in the 1st Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse. Details from Boer War Dossier for second service (S.N. 807) held by National Archives Australia.
