Note- while the AWM Boer War Nominal Roll compiled by Murray records him as Arthur Mussett, the original nominal roll and newspaper reports in 1899 record him as A. H. Mussett. His full name was Arthur Henry Mussett.
When Arthur (Henry) Mussett enlisted in 1899 in the 1st QMI and his details were published in The Brisbane Courier, 18 Nov 1899, he was recorded as Private A. H. Mussett, single, Loge's Paddock, Mackay. He served the full tour of the 1st QMI returning to Brisbane where he was discharged on 23 Jan 1901.
Arthur Henry Mussett was born on 15 Jan 1882 in Queensland, a son to Frederick Charles Mussett and Caroline Mussett (nee Johnson). He married Mary Ann Gould Pratt on 21 Aug 1903 in Queensland. They were residing in Mackay in 1903 when their only child tragically died at birth. Just a few years later Arthur took ill and died on 1 Jun 1905, as reported in The Mackay Mercury, 3 Jun 1905.

It came as a great shock to all when the death of Mr. Arthur Henry Mussett, which took place early on Thursday morning at the District Hospital, became known. The deceased was but 23 years of age and leaves a young widow to mourn her loss. The funeral which took place in the afternoon was well attended and was led by members of the original Mackay Brass Band playing the "Dead March in Saul". Several members of the light Horse were present in their private capacities, the deceased being one of the first contingent of volunteers for the Boer War. The Rev. A. Dunn conducted the burial service, and the greatest sympathy will be extended the bereaved widow and deceased's mother and brother.
