The death occurred on Sunday of Capt Kenneth Arthur Ogilvy, of Waratah, Pirie St., New Town. He was the son of the late Mr and Mrs A. J. Ogilvy, of Inverquharity, Richmond. Capt Ogilvy went to the South African war as captain of the last contingent of troops from Tasmania. For many years he was warden of Richmond, and finally left Inverquharity when he was appointed commandant of the Claremont Camp for part of the First World War.
He retired to New Town in 1919 and had since interested himself in the Victoria League, St. John's Church of England, and in many charities, particularly the Tasmanian Institution for the Blind, Deaf, and Dumb, and Diocesan Homes. He was associated with the Royal Hobart Show. He was not married. He leaves two sisters, Miss M. L. Ogilvy and Mrs W. Mosey. The funeral will be private.
