There appears to be discrepencies with the surname O'Loane in the Nominal Roll with O'Loan in other documents including BDM Qld registers and the 6th QIB Boer War Service Paybooks.

When Albert Edward O'Loan enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as H. O'Loan, North Pine. In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 32, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his brother Mr. A. H. O'Loan (Alfred Hugh O'Loan), Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Albert Edward O'Loan was born on 17 Apr 1876 in Queensland, a son to Hugh O'Loan and Mary O'Loan (nee McCauley or McAuley). While living in Ipswich he married Martha McAnalen on 29 Feb 1908 at St Stephen's Cathedral, Brisbane and they had 1 child.
