Arthur Oxford, full name Arthur Robert French Oxford, was born on 31 Mar 1882 in Bornemouth, England, a son to James Oxford and Elizabeth Oxford (nee Harvey). He married Ellen Jane Dyer on 5 Sep 1906 in Brisbane and they had 2 children while residing in South Brisbane.
He also served in WW1, S.N. 2223, 3rd Australian Camel Battalion AIF and he was killed in action at Palestine on 6 Nov 1917. When he enlisted in 1915 for WW1 he noted on his Attestation Paper that he; was 35 years 6 months old; married with 2 children; working as a Machinist; previously served in Boer War 5th QIB; and was living in South Brisbane.
