Charles Albert Parker served twice in the South African (Boer) War, first as a Lieutenant in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, second as a Captain in the 7th Battalion, Australian Commonwealth Horse.
He was born in 1854 at Yorkshire, England, a sone to Henry Stephen Parker and Martha Parker (nee Knightley) and was educated at Charter House near London. He pursued a military career in England and was a member of the Household Cavalry during Queen Victoria's reign. He resigned his commission and emigrated to Queensland in 1889. Following his return from the war he settled his family in the Warwick area pursuing grazing interests later relocating to Southport. He was predeceased by his wife and 3 children.
