John Joseph Perkins was born 8 Oct 1873 at Murrurundi, New South Wales, a son to John Perkins and Ellen Perkins (nee Keenan). He returned to Blandford NSW following his service and purchased farming and grazing properties. He married Margaret Johanna Gooley in 1904 and raised 9 children.
