MR. H. A. PERROTT.
The death occurred on Sunday morning, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, of Mr. Harold Athelstan Perrott, after a lengthy illness. Deceased, who was a well-known resident of Armidale district, was born at Haroldston, Armidale, 58 years ago. He was the young est son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Perrott. After serving some years with the branch of the Commercial Bank at Newcastle, deceased purchased a pastoral property at Glencoe, which he sold in order to enlist for the South African War, where he saw service in the Transvaal, Orange Free State, Rhodesia and Cape Colony. In 1902 he joined the Forestry' Department as a forest guard, in which service he remained until 1920, when he retired as Assistant District Forester at Armidale. The late Mr. Perrott was keenly public-spirited and took a very active part in the New State movement until the time of his failing health. He was also a member of the Masonic order, having filled the Master's chair in the three lodges in Armidale, and also was a foundation member of the Lodge Guyra. He was the first President of the Kelly's Plains Memorial Hall executive, and was resident of the Kelly's Plains P. and C. Association at the time of his death. Deceased married in 1902 the youngest daughter of the, late Mr. Wm. Landsborough, a well-known Queensland explorer. Surviving members of the, family being: Mr: Harold Perrott (Lana, Uralla), the Misses Ida and Janet Perrott and Mr. Robt. Perrott (Haroldston). Deceased's widow also survives him. Brothers are Messrs. Robert (Kaban, North Queensland), Alfred (Armidale), Edward (St. Aubins, Scone), and Issel Perrott (England); and sisters, Mrs. R. Wilson (Armidale), Miss Perrott-Turner (Armidale), and Misses Nellie, Mary and Elizabeth Perrott (Haroldston). The funeral took place at Kelly's Plains.
