As well as serving in the South African (Boer) War he also served in WW1, Private S.N. 328, 10th Light Horse Regiment, AIF.

He also went by the name Ernest Alfred Pfundt.

When Adolphus Ernest Alfred Pfundt enlisted in 1901 in the 5th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in the Queenslander, 16 Mar 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as his father A. Pfundt, Rupanyup, Victoria.

When he enlisted again at Guildford, Western Australia, in 1914 for WW1 it was noted on his Attestation Paper, dated 21 Oct 1914, that; he was born at Ballarat, Victoria, and was 39 years old; he was single and a carpenter; his N.O.K. was Adolphus E. A. Pfundt, Rupanyup, Victoria; and he had previously served in South Africa.

Adolphus Ernest Alfred Pfundt was born in 1871 at Sebastopol near Ballarat, Victoria, a son to Adolphus Pfundt and Maria Pfundt (nee Palmer). On his WW1 service record, p. 18, there is a war pension statement dated, 21 Jun 1917, which indicates he was then married and his wife's name was Myra Essie Pfundt. He passed in 1937 at the Fremantle Hospital, and prior to that had been residing at the Coogee Naval Base, Western Australia. His death was registered by BDM W.A. under the name Ernest Alfred Pfundt.
