Son of (late) William Bates RANDALL and Mrs. Georgina Holsgrove nee MATSON (fmly RANDALL) BALFE, Flinders St West, Townsville, Qld.
THE THANKS of MRS. BALFE are tendered to the kind friends who were to attentive to her late son, Frank Randall, in his illness. DR. FORREST, of Charters Towers, is particularly thanked. The sympathy shown by Townsville and Charters Towers friends was a great comfort to the mother and sisters of the deceased.
His mother passed away later the same month. - OLD TOWNSVILLE RESIDENT DEAD
A very old resident, Mrs. Balfe, better known to Townsville people under the name of her former husband, William Bates Randall, passed away at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. John Bray, Hermit Park, last Friday. The deceased (says the Townsville "Bulletin" of May 23) landed at Bowen 38 years ago and enjoyed fairly good health up to a fortnight ago, when the death of a favourite son, Frank Randall, seemed to prostrate her.
