When Robert Lancelot Renwick enlisted in 1901 and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as R. Renwick, Toowoomba.

Robert Lancelot Renwick was born on 10 Nov 1879 in Toowoomba, a son to Robert Renwick and Margaret Renwick (nee Smith). He returned from the Boer War and was dicharged in Queensland in 1902. By 1914 he was residing in Auckland, New Zealand where he married Alice May McCarron on 1 Jun 1914 and they had one child. Tragically that child was born premature in Feb 1915 with his wife dying from childbirth complications on 14 Feb 1915 and the child dying 3 Mar 1915.

He married for a second time to Elsie May Curtis in 1916 in New Zealand and they had at least 1 child.
