Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

When George Henry Richardson enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as R. Richardson, Morlain, NSW. In the original nominal roll for the 6th QIB Queensland Defence Force for service in South Africa, held by National Archives Australia, it notes his N.O.K. as his brother R. Richardson, Murulam (assumed to be Marulan), NSW.

In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 1 p. 24, it is noted he directed part of his pay to Miss B. Paterson, Woombye (North Coast Line), Qld, where it appears he had been residing. He is not listed in newspaper reports among the 6th QIB troops that returned on the Devon from South Africa. Also no discharge details are given in his entry in the service paybooks so it is unclear where and when he was discharged.
