Biography contributed by Claude McKelvey

When David Robinson enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as W. Robinson, Bald Hills. In the Boer War Service Paybooks 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 22, it is noted he directed part of his pay to his younger brother Mr W. Robinson, Bald Hills. It appears his parents had passed prior to his enlistment.

David Hall Robinson was born on 18 Nov 1879 in Queensland, a son (1 of 12 children) to William Robinson and Elizabeth Robinson (nee Hall). He married Jane Stirling King on 12 Oct 1904 in Queensland and they had 6 children.

When he passed in 1941 his funeral notice in The Courier Mail included a request for members of the African War Veterans Association to attend.
