John Rutledge was born 1881, at Warrnambool, the younger son of William Rupert Rutledge and Margaret Lorraine Armstrong. He was educated at Warrnambool College, Victoria. He later settled in New Zealand where he married, in 1925, Herewaka Brown. He died in 1949, New Zealand. - Henderson, A.
