Trooper E. V. Silk, of Molong Rifles, is on the way home. He is returning by the Tongarlro, and was at Perth, WA, last Saturday - 27 April 1901
Trooper E. V. Silk writes as follows to the Returned Soldiers' Beception Committee, Molong: — ' Gentlemen,— Permit me, on the occasion of my return to Molong, to tender my most sincere and heartfelt thanks to the residents of Molong (especially to those gentlemen of which the abovenamed committee is composed) for the handsome medal handed to my mother on my behalf. I feel that in volunteering to serve my late Queen and the Empire that I only did my duty. I shall ever regard the medal with feelings of pride and gratitude, and its possession will ever bring fond recollections of the kindness bestowed on me by the residents ot Molong.
