Son of Major-General F R Solly-Flood, C.B., of Eastbridge House, Hythe, Kent. Ten years in H.M. Imperial Forces, five with 7th Royal Fusiliers, six with Indian Staff Corps, 16th, 17th, and 29th Regiments of Punjab Infantry. Also served with 2nd Battalion Australian Commonwealth Horse.
