21 Mar 1901: Embarked 569, James Sutton, Service No 569, of the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles Regiment, E Squadron, Embarked with regimental staff and squadrons A,E and C on the transport ship “S S British Princess” on the 21st March 1901. The ship arrived at Durbin 17 April 1901 … The S S British Princess had 18 officers, 397 non commissioned officers and men and 408 horses aboard.

His parents were Malcolm SUTTON & Flora GRAHAM who married in NSW in 1869 (registered in Maitland)

He served during the Boer War with the 3rd Australian Commonwealth Horse & the 3rd NSW Mounted Rifles
