Mr. W. Symonds
Mr. Walter Symonds, 56, who died at his home, Oak avenue, Unley, on May 12 after a long illness, was born at Gawler. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Symonds of Aldgate, and was married in 1909 to Miss Ivy Yarrow, of Adelaide, who survives. He enlisted for active service in the Boer War and was for many years connected with the police force, being stationed at Unley and later in charge of the Richmond police station, from which he resigned to enter into business at Unley. He was an enthusiastic bowler, and was a member of the Sturt Bowling club for many years.
