Add my storyBiography contributed by Anne Tan
Edward Trevithick enlisted with the 4th Imperial Australian Contingent ( Imperial Buishmen) in 1900 and left his life in Victoria to serve in the Boer War. Domiciled in Brighton, he was a saddle and harness maker and a member of the Victorian Mounted Rifles. He was my paternal grandfather and my recently published memoir Colonial Volunteer: Soldier of the Queen (2026) honours his journey from Brighton saddler to colonial soldier and back again. His story represents adventure, duty, and the devotion of a colonial nation to the British Empire.
