Word has been received that Major H. F. Trew, Acting Commissioner South African Police, Pretoria, elder son of the late Captain J. S. Trew, of Stawell, and brother of Major W. M. Trew, D.S.O., who was recently returned invalided after three years at the front, has been mentioned in despatches and received the Croix de Guerre from the French Government for his services in the German South West African campaign, where he had command of General Botha's body guard. Harry, who 25 years ago was a jackeroo on the Lake Corrong Station has certainly " made good."
