Henry Frederick Wallace Tucker was born in Bristol, Wales in 1877-78. He served in both the South African (Boer) War and WW1. First service was as a Private S.N. 123 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War. Second service was as a Private S.N. 177 in the 6th Light Horse Regiment, AIF WW1.

He married Hariet Maude Hudson on 2 Mar 1904 in Queensland.
