Honoured
Military Medal, Pte. Joseph ELLISON 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on VILLE-SUR-ANCRE on the morning of 19th May 1918. This man was a stretcher bearer and displayed great bravery & fearlessness in attending to the wounded. He carried badly wounded men through heavy shell fire to the R.A.P. and in spite of enemy snipers, throughly searched the ground in front of the advanced posts, in order to make certain that all wounded men had been carried in."
