When John Thomas Walpole enlisted in 1901 in the 6th QIB and his details were published with the rank and file in The Queenslander, 13 Apr 1901, he noted his N.O.K. as J. Walpole, St Mark's, Holbeach, Lincolnshire, England.
In the Boer War Service Paybooks for the 6th QIB, Bk 2 p. 64, his address was noted as c/- J. Brampton, Plain Farm, Hodgson (near Roma), and when he returned in 1902 he obtained a pass to travel to Roma on 4 Jul 1902.
