Alfred White was born on 25 Mar 1877 in New South Wales. After serving with the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen it appears he returned to South Africa serving with the Canadian Scouts under the name of Alfred Richard White, Trooper, S.N. 39345 from 22 Nov 1901 to 31 May 1902. The microfiched record (p. 9) of KSA Medals awarded to the Canadian Scouts on the Angloboerwar.com website indicates Alfred Richard White previously served with the Queensland Imperial Bushmen S.N. 261.
A biography of him placed on the Australian Boer War Memorial database by a distant relative indicates that he went on to serve with the US Army in the the Phillipines rising to a commissioned rank of Captain. It appears he later resided in the USA where he passed away late in life.
