22 Apr 1901: Involvement Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, Lance Corporal, 158, 4th Victorian Imperial Bushman, Rode half a mile under Boer fire with Medical Officer, Captain Sturdee to reach wounded men near a Middlewater donga.
9 Jul 1901: Honoured Mention in Dispatches, London Gazette for deed on 22 April 1901.
